Disappointment in the President

I am disappointed in President Obama. What?!

Yes, it’s true. I am disappointed in the president. I still support him and most of his policies but I wish he would do more. Not that his poll numbers are very high at present but, even if they were, that should be the last of his concerns. Why? Because the man never has to run for office again. It shouldn’t matter to him what the public thinks. He should do what he thinks is best and not cave or back down because of fear of failure.

Maybe he’s grown tired of trying to compromise with a group of people who refuse to entertain such a radical idea. Maybe he’s grown tired of legislators opposing his policies for no other reason than they are his ideas. What I see right now is a watered down version of a man who successfully rallied an entire nation six years ago. He’s trying to be the every man – good for all time zones. Agreeable to everyone and offensive to no one. And that just does not work.

I want a leader who is passionate. Saying the Malaysian Air flight shot down over Ukraine may have been a tragedy is weak. Slam your fist on the podium, raise your voice and tell me what you’re going to do!

Take a stand, Mr. President! Show me what you’re passionate about and do something. The American people sent you to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue twice to do a job. Eight years. This is your last game, Mr. President, leave it all on the field. In one day in the White House, you can affect more change than you will be able to the rest of your life. You have 905 days left in office, what are you going to do with them?
